FNAF Skins Leaked for Fortnitemares: Freddy & Springtrap Coming

Dataminers have discovered files pointing to a massive Five Nights at Freddy’s crossover coming to Fortnite this October.

The Crossover Fans Have Demanded for Years Is Finally Real

It is finally happening. For years, the idea of Freddy Fazbear running around the Fortnite island was a running joke. Memes flooded TikTok. Fan-made concepts racked up millions of views on YouTube. But now, it looks like Epic Games is ready to turn the community’s biggest wish into reality.

Reliable dataminers have uncovered files pointing to a massive crossover. According to the leaks, characters from Scott Cawthon’s smash-hit indie horror franchise, Five Nights at Freddy’s (FNAF), will arrive just in time for this year’s Fortnitemares event in October. The news has sent shockwaves through both gaming communities.

Freddy and Springtrap Are Stepping Onto the Island

The leaks first surfaced after a recent game update. Prominent community dataminers, including ShiinaBR and HYPEX, noticed several suspicious codenames buried in the files. These assets point directly to two of the most iconic animatronics in horror history: Freddy Fazbear and Springtrap.

According to the reports, both characters will receive full outfits in the Fortnite Item Shop. Freddy Fazbear is expected to feature his classic look, complete with his signature black top hat and bowtie. But the real star for horror veterans might be Springtrap, the decaying, lore-heavy animatronic housing the series’ main villain, William Afton. Dataminers suggest Springtrap will feature highly detailed, battle-damaged textures that stay true to the dark aesthetic of the original games.

But skins are only part of the equation. Fortnite collaborations always bring extra goodies, and this one is no exception. Files suggest we are getting several themed cosmetics:

  • Carl the Cupcake Back Bling: Chica’s creepy pink companion will likely sit on players’ backs, perhaps with reactive eyes that twitch during firefights.
  • Microphone Harvesting Tool: Freddy’s classic stage mic, repurposed as a harvesting tool to smash brick and metal.
  • Jumpscare Emote: A built-in traversal emote that allows players to mimic the classic, terrifying scream that ended so many shifts at Freddy’s.
  • Pizza Box Glider: A Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza delivery box that opens up to serve as a glider.

Why Did It Take So Long?

Fans have begged for this crossover since Fortnite first started doing major pop-culture collaborations. When Epic brought in horror legends like Michael Myers, Ash Williams, and Resident Evil’s Leon Kennedy, the lack of FNAF felt like a glaring omission. Every Halloween, players hoped this would be the year. Every year, they left disappointed.

FNAF creator Scott Cawthon has historically been very selective about licensing his characters. While the franchise has expanded into movies, books, and merchandise, Cawthon always preferred to keep the core games somewhat independent. However, the massive success of the Blumhouse-produced Five Nights at Freddy’s movie changed things. With a sequel in active development, the timing for a massive global marketing push could not be better.

Epic Games has also been looking for a major headliner for Fortnitemares. While previous events featured great additions, players felt they lacked a truly culture-shifting crossover. Bringing Freddy and Springtrap to the battle pass or the item shop guarantees record-breaking engagement.

What to Expect for Fortnitemares This October

Epic Games usually launches Fortnitemares in mid-to-late October. The event typically transforms the map with spooky decorations, heavy fog, and temporary gameplay mechanics. In the past, we have seen horde rush modes, witch brooms, and pumpkin launchers.

With FNAF on board, rumors suggest we might see more than just shop cosmetics. Speculation is already mounting that Freddy’s band could appear as NPC bosses on the island. Imagine wandering into a dark, foggy corner of the map, only to hear a distant music box playing. Suddenly, a giant animatronic charges out of the shadows. It would match the creepy atmosphere Epic loves to build during the Halloween season.

As always with leaks, things are subject to change. Epic Games has not officially confirmed the collaboration yet. They rarely comment on datamined files. Still, the evidence in the game code is incredibly hard to ignore. Keep your eyes on the item shop this October, and maybe keep a flashlight handy.
