Fortnitemares 2026: Classic Slasher Villains Leak Ahead of Launch
Ghostface and Leatherface are reportedly coming to the Fortnite Item Shop tonight. Here is a look at the leaked bundles and pricing.
Fortnite players do not have to wait until tonight to see what Epic Games has planned for this year’s Fortnitemares event. A massive new leak has spoiled the surprise. Iconic horror movie villains are officially on their way to the battle royale island.
Early this morning, reliable Fortnite dataminers like ShiinaBR and HYPEX cracked open encrypted game files from the latest update. What they found has sent shockwaves through the community. According to the leaks, Ghostface from the Scream franchise and Leatherface from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre are set to debut in the Item Shop during tonight’s daily refresh.
The timing is perfect. Fortnitemares is Epic’s flagship autumn event, and players always expect big crossovers. This year, the developers are leaning heavily into classic slasher cinema.
The Ghostface Bundle Details
Let’s look at the Ghostface cosmetics first. The leaked images show the classic black-robed killer carrying his signature hunting knife as a harvesting tool. He also gets a reactive back bling shaped like an old-school landline telephone. When you get an elimination, the phone actually rings.
Data miners also uncovered several other features for the Scream crossover:
- A built-in emote where your character mimics the famous “What’s your favorite scary movie?” phone call.
- An alternative skin style that gives the Ghostface mask a decayed, zombie-like texture.
- A customized glider resembling a bloody, torn cloak.
Leatherface Joins the Mayhem
Then there is Leatherface. The cannibalistic giant from Texas is rendered in terrifying detail. He wears his iconic tie, bloody apron, and a mask stitched from human skin. Unsurprisingly, his pickaxe is a roaring yellow chainsaw.
Data miners note that the chainsaw has custom swinging animations and sound effects, making it one of the most unique harvesting tools in recent memory. Rumors also point to a temporary landmark resembling the famous Texas farmhouse appearing on the map later this week.
Pricing and Release Timing
Epic Games has not officially confirmed these skins yet. However, the leaked shop assets look entirely polished and ready for release. The update usually happens at 8:00 PM Eastern Time (5:00 PM Pacific Time), and that is when these horror legends should go live in the Item Shop.
How much will they cost? Based on previous collaboration skins, Ghostface and Leatherface will likely retail for 1,500 V-Bucks each if you buy them individually. Complete bundles, which include the skins, pickaxes, gliders, and emotes, should go for around 2,200 to 2,600 V-Bucks.
The community’s response has been overwhelmingly positive. On social media, fans are praising Epic for securing these licenses. “I’ve been waiting for Ghostface for literally four years,” one player wrote on Reddit. “Take my money immediately.”
Fortnite has a long history of adding horror characters during October. In previous years, we saw Ash Williams, Michael Myers, and Alan Wake join the roster. Adding Ghostface and Leatherface cements Fortnitemares 2026 as one of the strongest lineups in the game’s history.
If you want to grab these skins the second they drop, make sure your game is fully updated. Expect high server traffic around the shop reset time, as thousands of players will be trying to log in at once to secure their favorite slashers. Keep your V-Bucks ready. Tonight, the hunt begins.
