Fortnitemares 2026: Horror Icons Hit the Fortnite Item Shop
Epic Games launches Fortnitemares 2026 with a massive drop of licensed horror crossover skins in the Fortnite Item Shop. Here is what you can get.
The fog has rolled in. Epic Games just kicked off Fortnitemares 2026, and this year’s spooky celebration is pulling out all the stops. If you have been saving your V-Bucks, now is the time to spend them. The Fortnite Item Shop is currently packed with some of the most anticipated licensed horror crossover bundles in the game’s history.
For years, Fortnite has been the ultimate digital toybox. It brings together universes that should never cross paths. This October, that philosophy takes a dark, thrilling turn. Players can now drop from the Battle Bus dressed as some of cinema’s most terrifying villains.
The Big Headliners: Slashes and Screams
This year’s lineup is a mix of nostalgic classics and modern gore icons. Leading the pack is the highly rumored Terrifier bundle. Yes, Art the Clown has officially made his way to the island. Complete with his signature trash bag back bling and a squeaky horn emote, the silent killer is already terrifying players in matchmaking lobbies. The bundle costs 2,200 V-Bucks, but you can grab the individual skin for 1,500.
But Epic did not stop there. Classic horror aficionados are getting plenty of love too. A partnership with Universal Pictures brings brand-new, stylized versions of Dracula and the Mummy. These are not just basic skins. Dracula features a built-in emote that lets him transform into a cloud of bats to glide across the map. It is flashy, dramatic, and exactly what fans wanted.
Then there is the return of the fan-favorites. Michael Myers and Jack Skellington have cycled back into the shop. They brought their original gear with them. If you missed out on them during previous events, this is your chance to complete the collection.
More Than Just Skins: Accessories and Emotes
Epic Games knows that a good skin is only half the battle. The accompanying cosmetics in these bundles are incredibly detailed. Take the new Chucky back bling, for example. It is reactive. The killer doll sits in your backpack, laughing maniacally whenever you secure an elimination or take damage. It is creepy. It is distracting. And players are absolutely loving it.

We are also seeing some unique weapon wraps. The Splatter wrap paints any gun in dripping red paint that glows faintly under the moonlight. There are also new pickaxes. You can swing a rusty meat hook or a gothic candelabra to harvest your materials. Every item feels carefully crafted to fit the Halloween theme.
The Spooky Vibe Spreads Across the Island
The shop update is just one part of the equation. The entire Fortnite map has undergone a haunting transformation. Grim Gate has become even more ominous, covered in thick green fog. Haunted loot chests have replaced some of the standard chests, occasionally jumping up to scare players when opened. They drop high-tier loot, though, so the jump scare is usually worth it.
“I jumped out of my chair the first time a chest snarled at me,” says one player on Reddit. “But then it dropped a legendary shotgun, so I can’t really complain.” That balance of horror and fun is what Epic does best.
Horde Rush is back, too. This beloved limited-time mode challenges teams of four to survive waves of cube monsters. It is fast, chaotic, and the perfect place to show off your newly purchased horror cosmetics.
Get Them Before They Fade Away
As with all crossover events, these horror bundles will not stay in the shop forever. Epic Games has confirmed that the Fortnitemares 2026 event will run until November 3. After that, these licensed characters will head back into the vault. There is no telling when, or if, they will return.
If you want to terrorize your opponents as Art the Clown or glide silently as Dracula, you have a few weeks to make your move. Log in, check out the shop, and get ready for a very spooky October on the island.
