Fortnite Leaks Reveal Disney Villains Coming to Fortnitemares
Leakers have uncovered files pointing to a Disney Villains crossover for Fortnitemares in Chapter 7 Season 4, featuring Maleficent and Captain Hook.
Epic Games is gearing up for its annual Halloween bash. This year, some of cinema’s most famous bad guys are on the guest list. Recent leaks from the Fortnite community suggest that the upcoming Fortnitemares event in Chapter 7 Season 4 will feature a massive collaboration with Disney Villains. This means iconic characters are finally coming to the battle royale island as playable skins.
According to prominent dataminers who regularly scour the game’s backend files, assets for Maleficent and Captain Hook have already been spotted. The files indicate both characters will receive full cosmetic sets, complete with matching gear, back blings, and harvesting tools. It is a major crossover that players have been anticipating for months.
The Mistress of Evil and the Pirate Captain
The leaks point to two very distinct styles coming to the item shop. Maleficent, the legendary antagonist from “Sleeping Beauty,” is expected to sport her classic horns and flowing black-and-purple robes. Given her lore, players are already speculating about potential built-in emotes. Some think she might transform into a dragon, or perhaps use a glider shaped like her faithful raven, Diablo.
Then there is Captain Hook. The nemesis of Peter Pan is set to bring his swashbuckling style to the game. Leakers expect his iconic hook to serve as a custom pickaxe, while his pirate hat and elegant red coat will make him stand out on the battlefield. Rumors also suggest his ship, the Jolly Roger, could make an appearance either as a glider or as a new landmark on the changing Fortnite map.

A Growing Partnership
This crossover is the latest step in a rapidly expanding relationship between Epic Games and Disney. Earlier this year, Disney made headlines by investing $1.5 billion into Epic. The goal is to build an entirely new persistent universe within Fortnite. During the D23 Expo, Disney executives teased that classic villains would be arriving in the game eventually. It looks like “eventually” means this October.
While Fortnite has hosted plenty of Disney-owned characters before—mostly from Marvel and Star Wars—this marks a significant push into the core Disney animation catalog. It opens the door for even more classic characters down the road. Players are already making wishlists featuring Ursula, Jafar, and Hades.
What to Expect from Fortnitemares Chapter 7 Season 4
Fortnitemares is always one of the most popular events on the Fortnite calendar. Epic typically pulls out all the stops. They alter the map with thick fog, spooky decorations, and haunted points of interest. Gameplay usually gets a major shakeup too.
In past years, players have seen the return of Horde Rush mode, where squads team up to fight off waves of monsters. We have also seen witch brooms used for fast travel and pumpkin launchers used for explosive chaos. With Disney Villains entering the mix, there is a strong chance we could see themed in-game items or even boss fights. Imagine having to defeat Captain Hook at a specific dock to claim a mythic weapon, or dodging Maleficent’s dark magic in a haunted forest.
While Epic Games has not officially confirmed the release date, Fortnitemares traditionally begins in mid-October and runs until the first week of November. Fans can expect an official teaser trailer and store reveals very soon as the developers prepare to deploy the update.
