Fortnite Overhauls Item Shop With Permanent Disney Store
Epic Games is changing how players buy Marvel, Star Wars, and Pixar skins with a permanent new Disney Storefront tab in Fortnite.
Epic Games is about to tear up the rulebook for its digital marketplace. For years, the Fortnite Item Shop has lived and died by a single, powerful force: the fear of missing out. You either buy a skin today, or you wait months—sometimes years—for it to randomly rotate back into the store. But a massive new redesign is set to change all of that, introducing a permanent home for some of the game’s biggest collaborations.
Reliable data miners and community insiders have revealed that Epic is preparing to launch a dedicated “Disney Storefront” tab. This permanent fixture inside the Item Shop will fundamentally reshape how players buy cosmetics from Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, and Pixar. Instead of relying on unpredictable daily rotations, players will soon have a reliable, always-on catalog of their favorite pop-culture characters.
The End of the Endless Rotation
This is a big deal. Historically, crossover skins have been highly elusive. If you missed out on a particular Marvel hero or Star Wars Jedi during a promotional event, your locker stayed empty until Epic decided to bring them back. Under the new system, this artificial scarcity takes a back seat.
The move comes as a direct result of Disney’s massive $1.5 billion investment in Epic Games earlier this year. Both companies made it clear they wanted to build a “persistent universe” together. Bringing a permanent Disney-themed retail space directly into Fortnite’s existing ecosystem is the first major step toward that goal.

According to leaks, the new storefront will organize cosmetics into distinct, easy-to-navigate categories. You won’t have to scroll through a disorganized mess of daily emotes and generic skins to find what you want.
What This Means for the Fortnite Economy
For players, the benefits are obvious. It offers convenience. If you start playing the game tomorrow and want to buy Darth Vader or Spider-Man, you can just do it. You don’t have to check the shop every night at 8 PM Eastern Time like it’s a second job.
But for Epic, it is a calculated gamble. The entire Fortnite monetization model was built on impulse buying. Will players spend as much money if they know a skin will always be there? Epic seems to think so. By lowering the barrier to entry for casual fans who just want to play as their favorite movie characters, they are opening the floodgates to a much wider audience.
A Smooth Rollout
The redesign isn’t just about Disney, though. Epic has been quietly cleaning up the entire Item Shop interface over the last few updates. They removed the old rarity colors, streamlined the purchasing menus, and added clearer expiration dates for rotating items. This new Disney tab fits perfectly into that cleaner, more modern look.
While Epic Games hasn’t officially announced the exact launch date for the permanent tab, files hidden in the latest game patches suggest it is right around the corner. Fans should expect to see the shop shift very soon, marking the beginning of a whole new era for Fortnite’s digital economy.
