Epic Games officially brings Freddy Fazbear and Springtrap to Fortnitemares with highly customizable outfits and creepy cosmetics.

The rumors were real. After years of fan theories, concept art, and endless teasing, Epic Games has officially confirmed that the animatronic horrors of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza are coming to Fortnite. The massive crossover is set to headline this year’s Fortnitemares event, bringing the iconic survival horror franchise directly into the battle royale.

The Long-Awaited Collab is Finally Here

For a long time, community forums were filled with fake leaks. Every October, players hoped to see a giant mechanical bear roaming the Island. Now, Epic is delivering in a big way. The collaboration focuses on two of the most recognizable characters from Scott Cawthon’s franchise: Freddy Fazbear and the sinister Springtrap.

Epic Games announced the news via a short, atmospheric teaser trailer. The clip shows the familiar flickering lights of a security office, followed by the heavy, metallic footsteps of an animatronic. Suddenly, a pair of glowing eyes appears in the storm storm circle. It is a perfect nod to the tension of the original indie game, and it has already sent shockwaves through the community.

Deep Customization for Freddy and Springtrap

These are not just simple, static character models. Epic is leaning heavily into customization for both outfits. Players can tweak their animatronics to fit their favorite era of the franchise.

Freddy Fazbear comes with several distinct styles. You can choose the classic, relatively clean look from the very first game. If you prefer something a bit more battle-worn, you can swap to the Withered style, which features exposed wires, tears in the fabric, and a missing eye. There is even a Golden Freddy variant that glows faintly in dark corners of the map.

Springtrap is just as detailed. The rotting green rabbit suit can be customized to show varying levels of decay. Players can choose between the classic Five Nights at Freddy’s 3 appearance and a heavily damaged “Scraptrap” style. Some cosmetic options even let you see glints of the endoskeleton underneath the fabric, which looks incredibly eerie during nighttime matches.

The Extra Cosmetics and Emotes

Of course, a Fortnite bundle is never just about the outfits. The Five Nights at Freddy’s set includes a variety of matching accessories that fans will immediately recognize:

  • The Cupcake Back Bling: Chica’s pink cupcake sits on your back, its eyes darting around as you move. It even reacts to your gameplay, letting out a tiny screech whenever you get an elimination.
  • Microphone Stand Harvesting Tool: Freddy’s classic silver microphone, converted into a makeshift pickaxe.
  • Flickering Camera Glider: A retro security monitor attached to a parachute that buzzes with static as you glide down to the Island.

There is also a built-in emote for both skins. Triggering the emote causes the character to stand completely still before performing a sudden, loud jumpscare animation. It is bound to terrify unsuspecting players hiding in bushes.

When Can You Get Them?

The skins are scheduled to hit the Fortnite Item Shop right at the start of Fortnitemares. While Epic has not shared the exact pricing yet, industry insiders suggest a bundle featuring both characters and all their accessories will run around 2,800 V-Bucks. If you want to buy them individually, expect the skins to cost 1,500 V-Bucks each.

Fortnitemares has always been one of the most popular events on the Fortnite calendar. By adding a legendary horror name like Five Nights at Freddy’s to the mix, Epic Games is ensuring this year’s spooky season will be one to remember. Prepare your V-Bucks, keep your eyes on the shadows, and watch your power levels.
