Disney Villains Take Over Fortnite in Massive Fortnitemares 2026 Event
Epic Games is bringing highly customizable Disney Villains skins to Fortnite for the Fortnitemares 2026 event, featuring Maleficent, Captain Hook, and Cruella.
Disney’s Darkest Icons Join the Battle Royale
Fortnitemares has always been a highlight for Fortnite fans, but the 2026 edition is shaping up to be the biggest one yet. Epic Games has officially revealed the first wave of customizable Disney Villains skins, scheduled to drop just as the annual Halloween festivities begin. Gamers have been begging for these characters for years. Now, they are finally arriving with a level of cosmetic depth rarely seen in licensed crossovers.
This initial drop spotlights three of Disney’s most notorious antagonists: Maleficent, Captain Hook, and Cruella de Vil. Unlike earlier Disney collaborations, these outfits are far from static. Epic worked closely with Disney’s creative teams to let players tweak their looks, seamlessly blending classic animated nostalgia with modern, combat-ready designs.
Deep Customization Options for Every Villain
The customizable features are the real star of the show here. Each character comes with a suite of options that allow players to change their appearance mid-match. Here is what players can expect from the first wave of skins:
- Maleficent: The Mistress of All Evil arrives with her iconic horned headdress. Players can toggle her long, flowing cape on or off. She also features an alternate “dragon-infused” style that wraps her armor in glowing, animated green flames.
- Captain Hook: Hook offers a gritty pirate look. Players can swap his classic crimson coat for a weathered, black leather variant. Even his trademark hand is customizable, letting you swap the standard hook for a sharp rapier or a glowing, ghostly cutlass.
- Cruella de Vil: Cruella might be the most stylish addition to the roster. Her skin features multiple high-fashion fur coats, customizable split-color hairstyles, and a punk-rock aesthetic reminiscent of her modern film appearances.
“We wanted to give players the freedom to make these legendary characters their own,” Epic Games noted in their official release. “These villains aren’t just stepping out of their movies and onto the island. They are adapting to the chaotic, competitive world of Fortnite.”

Release Date, Pricing, and Bundle Details
The Disney Villains set will land in the Item Shop on October 13, 2026, coinciding with the launch of the Fortnitemares update. Individual skins will cost 1,500 V-Bucks, while a complete “Disney Villains Megapack” will be available for 3,800 V-Bucks. This bundle includes exclusive harvesting tools, like Maleficent’s staff and Hook’s boarding axe, alongside themed weapon wraps and custom lobby music.
Cruella also gets a unique glider styled after her classic luxury car, complete with roaring engine sound effects. Those who purchase the entire bundle will unlock a special animated loading screen featuring the trio planning a heist on the island.
The Growing Disney and Epic Games Partnership
This crossover marks another milestone in the massive partnership between Epic Games and Disney. Back in 2024, Disney invested $1.5 billion into Epic to build an expansive, persistent universe connected to Fortnite. We are now seeing the long-term results of that deal. While past collaborations focused heavily on heroes from Marvel and Star Wars, this spooky update shows a clear willingness to dig deeper into the Disney vaults.
Beyond the Item Shop, the island is getting a major gameplay shakeup. A new Point of Interest called “The Dark Citadel” will appear on the map. Players who brave this haunted castle can fight an NPC boss version of Maleficent. Defeating her drops a Mythic-tier weapon that allows players to summon green firestorms against their opponents. Spooky season is officially here, and the villains are running the show.
