Fortnitemares 2026 Leaks: FNAF and Scream Skins Revealed

0

Leakers have uncovered files pointing to highly anticipated ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s’ and ‘Scream’ crossover skins for Fortnitemares 2026.

Fortnite players have spent years begging Epic Games for two specific horror collaborations. Now, it looks like they are finally getting both at the same time.

According to prominent dataminers, the upcoming Fortnitemares 2026 event will feature crossovers with both Five Nights at Freddy’s and the Scream franchise. This news comes after encrypted files were uncovered in the latest game update, sparking massive excitement across social media platforms.

For years, rumors about Freddy Fazbear and Ghostface joining the battle royale have circulated online. This time, the technical evidence is much harder to ignore.

Inside the Datamined Files

Early on Tuesday morning, well-known Fortnite leakers ShiinaBR and HYPEX shared their findings on X. They discovered several encrypted files buried deep inside the v36.10 patch. Among the findings were codenames that directly point to the two major horror properties.

The leaks suggest that players will be able to purchase a Ghostface skin. The classic slasher villain from Scream is expected to arrive with his signature black robe and white mask. Additionally, dataminers found references to a slasher-themed pickaxe, which many believe is a nod to Ghostface’s iconic hunting knife. There are also hints of a built-in emote that mimics the character's creepy phone calls.

But the biggest surprise for many was the inclusion of Five Nights at Freddy’s. Scott Cawthon’s indie horror franchise has built a massive cult following since 2014. Despite constant fan theories, Epic Games has never officially brought the animatronics to the island. That appears to be changing.

The leaked files mention a character codenamed “Bear” that features reactive elements. Dataminers claim this skin will likely be Freddy Fazbear himself. The skin may even feature a built-in jumpscare emote that triggers when players secure an elimination. Other files hint at a back bling shaped like a security guard badge and a pizza box glider.

A Long-Awaited Arrival

The timing of these leaks is perfect. Fortnitemares is Epic Games' annual Halloween celebration, which typically starts in mid-October. The event always brings creepy map changes, spooky weapons, and a fresh batch of licensed horror characters. Past events have featured legendary monsters like Michael Myers, Jack Skellington, and Resident Evil's Leon Kennedy.

Adding Ghostface and Freddy Fazbear to that roster would represent a major win for Epic. The Scream franchise has seen a massive resurgence in recent years with new theatrical releases, making Ghostface a highly relevant addition. Meanwhile, the FNAF community has been waiting for a crossover ever since the movie adaptation hit theaters.

Epic Games has not officially confirmed either collaboration. However, the accuracy of high-profile dataminers makes these additions highly likely. Usually, encrypted files of this nature are decrypted and released within two to three weeks of their discovery.

The Community Reacts

On Reddit and TikTok, fans are already losing their minds. The FNAF community in particular has a long history of false alarms. For years, every single Fortnite update led to theories about Freddy Fazbear. Scott Cawthon even addressed the rumors in the past, keeping his cards close to his chest. This time, however, the file structure tells a different story.

“I've been waiting for this since Chapter 2,” wrote one user on the FortniteBR subreddit. “If they actually put Ghostface and Springtrap in the game, my wallet is done for.”

What Else to Expect from Fortnitemares 2026

Skins are only one part of the Halloween update. Dataminers also discovered code indicating the return of classic gameplay features. The Pumpkin Launcher is expected to make its annual return, alongside Witch Brooms for mobility.

There are also rumors of a brand-new PvE mode. This mode would task players with surviving waves of cube monsters on a haunted version of the current map. Players who complete these limited-time challenges will likely earn free rewards, including sprays, wraps, and loading screens.

As October approaches, Epic Games is expected to release an official teaser trailer. Until then, fans will be saving up their V-Bucks in anticipation of what could be the biggest Fortnitemares event to date.</
