Fortnite Launches Disney Legends Skins With Battle-Ready Princesses
Epic Games debuts the Disney Legends pack in Fortnite, turning classic princesses Cinderella and Jasmine into armor-clad battle royale warriors.
Fortnite players are used to seeing strange things jump out of the Battle Bus. Peter Griffin, Goku, and Ariana Grande have all fought for survival on the island. But the latest addition feels different. Epic Games has officially launched the long-rumored ‘Disney Legends’ skin collection, bringing a warrior-style makeover to some of the world’s most famous fairy-tale characters.
The highly anticipated pack introduces battle-ready versions of Cinderella and Jasmine. No longer waiting around in drafty castles, these classic princesses are fully armored and ready to build, shoot, and dodge-roll their way to a Victory Royale. It is a bold new look for Disney’s legacy characters, and gamers are already buying in.
Redefining Royalty for the Battlefield
Instead of traditional flowing ballgowns, Epic’s design team went with sleek, combat-ready gear that respects the original character silhouettes while fitting Fortnite’s fast-paced aesthetic. Cinderella’s outfit features a polished silver breastplate, reinforced shoulder guards, and deep blue accents that mirror her iconic 1950 ballgown. Her famous glass slippers have been redesigned as heavy-duty tactical combat boots with translucent heels.
Jasmine trades her classic silk outfit for gold-plated desert-warrior armor. She sports royal gold shoulder pauldrons, a durable teal tunic, and leather wraps. She looks less like a sheltered princess and more like an elite general ready to defend Agrabah. Both skins come with LEGO styles as well, allowing players to use them across different game modes.

Custom Accessories and Emotes
The cosmetics do not stop at the character models. Each skin comes with a dedicated set of gear designed to fit their story. Players can harvest materials using a ‘Glass Shard’ pickaxe or glide down to the island on a stylized magic carpet. Epic has also included special emotes that play orchestrated, action-heavy remixes of classic Disney songs, adding a bit of theatrical flair to the chaos of the battlefield.
The collection is currently live in the Fortnite Item Shop. Individual skins cost 1,500 V-Bucks, while the entire Disney Legends bundle—which includes both characters, their custom back blings, pickaxes, and gliders—is priced at 2,800 V-Bucks. It is a steep price, but one that dedicated collectors seem eager to pay.
A Billion-Dollar Bet on the Metaverse
While Fortnite has featured Disney-owned properties like Marvel, Star Wars, and Indiana Jones for years, the inclusion of core Disney Animation characters is a massive milestone. This release marks the first major commercial fruit of Disney’s massive $1.5 billion stake in Epic Games, which was announced in February 2024. This is not a simple, one-off promotional tie-in. It is the beginning of a multi-year plan to build a massive, persistent digital universe where Disney’s worlds coexist inside Epic’s ecosystem.
For decades, Disney was notoriously protective of its brand image. The idea of Cinderella holding an assault rifle or doing a silly dance would have been laughed out of corporate headquarters ten years ago. But times have changed. Younger audiences are spending far more time inside virtual spaces like Fortnite and Roblox than watching traditional movies or cable television. To keep these classic brands alive for the next generation, Disney has had to adapt. Allowing their princesses to become action heroes is a calculated risk, but early player reactions suggest the gamble is paying off handsomely.
What is Next for the Disney-Fortnite Universe?
Social media is already filled with theories about which characters will join the roster next. Community leakers have pointed to internal game files suggesting Snow White, Ariel, and even villains like Maleficent and Ursula could be on the horizon. Epic Games has kept quiet on future releases, but the commercial success of this initial launch makes future waves almost certain. For now, players can jump into the game, grab their armor, and rewrite these classic fairy tales on their own terms.
