Disney Villains Headed to Fortnite in Massive Fortnitemares Leak
Leaked files for Fortnitemares 2026 reveal that iconic Disney Villains Maleficent and Chernabog are joining Fortnite’s annual Halloween event.
Fortnite players are used to spooky surprises when October rolls around. But the latest leaks for Fortnitemares 2026 suggest Epic Games is preparing something exceptionally dark this year. According to prominent community data miners, a massive crossover with Disney’s most iconic villains is on the horizon. Leading the charge are two of the animation giant’s most formidable antagonists: Maleficent and Chernabog.
The news leaked after recent backend updates. Trusted insiders found codenames and asset strings pointing directly to the classic Disney characters. It is not just a minor cosmetics drop, either. Rumors suggest these characters will play a major role in the seasonal storyline, complete with in-game boss fights, mythic weapons, and dedicated map locations.
The Growing Bond Between Epic and Disney
This crossover does not come out of nowhere. Disney made headlines when it invested a staggering $1.5 billion into Epic Games. The goal was to build an expansive, persistent universe inside Fortnite. We have already seen the fruits of this partnership with Star Wars, Marvel, and even classic Pixar characters entering the Battle Royale. Bringing Disney Villains into the fold for Fortnitemares is a natural evolution of that deal.
It makes perfect sense for a Halloween event. While Fortnite has previously relied on horror icons like Michael Myers, Alan Wake, and Ash Williams, pulling from Disney’s dark catalog offers a different kind of appeal. It targets both nostalgic adults and younger players who grew up watching these classic films.
Maleficent and Chernabog Take Center Stage
So, who exactly are we getting? The leaks point heavily to Maleficent, the Mistress of All Evil from the 1959 classic Sleeping Beauty. Players can expect a highly detailed skin featuring her iconic horned headdress and flowing black and purple robes. Data miners also hint at a built-in emote that lets her transform into a fire-breathing dragon, or perhaps a glider that mimics those massive black wings.
Even more surprising is the inclusion of Chernabog. The giant, gargoyle-like demon from the “Night on Bald Mountain” segment of 1940’s Fantasia is one of Disney’s most terrifying creations. Translating his massive scale into a playable Fortnite skin is a challenge, but Epic has pulled off similar feats with giant characters like Thanos and Galactus. Leakers suggest Chernabog might appear as an imposing NPC boss residing over a corrupted mountain on the Battle Royale island, with a scaled-down version available in the Item Shop.
Spooky Gameplay and Loot Pool Changes
Fortnitemares is never just about the skins. The leaks point to significant gameplay shifts. Players can look forward to the return of classic Halloween items alongside some brand-new Disney-themed weapons. Here is what the rumor mill has teased so far:
- Maleficent’s Scepter: A new Mythic weapon that lets players cast green fireballs and call down lightning strikes on opponents.
- The Bald Mountain Rift: A new point of interest dominated by dark storm clouds, where players can summon and defeat Chernabog for high-tier loot.
- Witch Brooms and Pumpkin Launchers: The fan-favorite mobility items and explosive weapons are set to unvault yet again.
- Horde Rush Mode: The cooperative PvE mode is expected to return, potentially featuring Disney-themed shadow monsters.
When Does the Nightmare Begin?
Epic Games has not officially confirmed the details yet. Still, we can look at historical patterns to guess the release date. Fortnitemares traditionally kicks off in mid-October and runs through early November. We should see official teasers dropping on Epic’s social channels by the first week of October.
As always, keep your expectations in check until Epic makes an official announcement. But with the sheer amount of data already uncovered, it seems highly likely that this year’s Halloween will be a wicked affair. Get your V-Bucks ready; saving the island from these classic villains won’t be easy.
