Fortnite Launches Long-Awaited FNAF Skins for Fortnitemares 2026
Epic Games kicks off Fortnitemares 2026 by dropping the highly anticipated Five Nights at Freddy’s collab in the Fortnite Item Shop.
Freddy Fazbear Invades the Island
The rumors were true this time. After years of false alarms, internet hoaxes, and endless fan concepts, the animatronics have officially escaped Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza and landed straight on the Fortnite island. Epic Games launched its Fortnitemares 2026 event today, and the headliner is none other than Scott Cawthon’s iconic horror franchise, Five Nights at Freddy’s.
It is a crossover that players have practically begged for since Fortnite’s early days. On Tuesday morning, Epic finally pressed the button. The Item Shop updated, and there they were: Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy, fully realized in Fortnite’s signature art style. The wait is over. And fans are losing it.
What is in the FNAF Bundle?
Epic did not go halfway with this launch. The collaboration features a massive wave of cosmetics that cater to both old-school indie horror fans and newer players who know the lore inside out.
The star of the show is the Freddy Fazbear outfit. It comes with two distinct styles. There is the classic, relatively clean look from the original 2014 game. Then, there is the “Withered” style, which features exposed wires, torn fabric, and glowing red eyes that shine in the dark.
Here is a breakdown of what players can grab in the shop right now:
- Freddy Fazbear Outfit: Includes the built-in “Jumpscare” emote.
- Foxy the Pirate Outfit: Comes with a hook-hand harvesting tool style.
- Carl the Cupcake Back Bling: It sits on your back and occasionally chatters its teeth.
- The Bite of ’87 Pickaxe: A rusty microphone stand wrapped in party lights.
- “Showtime” Lobby Track: A creepy synth-wave remix of the classic Freddy theme.
If you want the whole set, Epic is offering a “Fazbear Entertainment Bundle” for 2,800 V-Bucks. Buying things individually will cost more, with Freddy himself priced at 1,500 V-Bucks. The price? Not cheap. But for die-hard fans, it is an instant purchase.
A Spooky Map Makeover
The collaboration is not just limited to cosmetics. Fortnitemares has always been about transforming the actual island, and this year is no exception. A new landmark has popped up near the center of the map. It is an abandoned, dilapidated family restaurant called “Freddy’s.”
Step inside, and the atmosphere changes instantly. The lighting dims, and static fills your screen. Players who dare to explore the building will find chests hidden in the party rooms. But watch out. If you stay inside too long after the storm starts closing in, the animatronics on the stage start to twitch.

New Survival Items
To survive the night, Epic has also unvaulted the Flashlight and introduced a new utility item: the Security Camera tablet. This item allows players to drop up to three cameras around their current location. You can toggle the feed to check your surroundings, a direct nod to the classic FNAF security room mechanic. It adds a whole new layer of strategy to late-game circles, especially in Zero Build mode where cover is sparse.
“We wanted to make sure the vibe was just right,” says an inside source at Epic Games. “FNAF is about tension and jump scares. We couldn’t just put the skins in the shop and call it a day. The island had to feel a little haunted.”
Why This Collaboration Took So Long
For Fortnite veterans, this crossover feels like the end of a long journey. Rumors of a FNAF collab have circulated during almost every autumn season for the past five years. Every time October rolled around, data miners would search the game files looking for any hint of Freddy. Every time, they came up empty-handed.
So, what changed? Industry insiders suggest that negotiations between Epic and Scott Cawthon took years to finalize. Cawthon is notoriously protective of his creation. He wanted to ensure that any crossover maintained the creepy, slightly off-kilter spirit of the games.
The timing also works out perfectly. With a second Five Nights at Freddy’s movie currently in development and the franchise continuing to dominate streaming platforms, interest in the series has never been higher.
How Fans are Reacting
Social media is currently flooded with clips of Freddy Fazbear doing popular Fortnite emotes. Seeing a terrifying animatronic bear do the “Griddy” is exactly the kind of chaotic energy that Fortnite is famous for. It is absurd, hilarious, and perfect.
“I’ve been waiting for this since Chapter 2,” wrote one fan on Reddit. “My squad is literally running a full lobby of animatronics tonight. It’s glorious.”
The Fortnitemares event is scheduled to run until November 3, 2026. While some cosmetic items might rotate out of the shop before then, Epic has confirmed that the Fazbear set will remain available for a significant portion of the event. If you want to terrorize your opponents as a haunted robot, now is your chance.
