Epic Games kicks off Fortnitemares 2026 with the highly anticipated Simpsons Treehouse of Horror crossover skins in the Item Shop.

Fortnite players have spent years begging for a Simpsons crossover. Today, Epic Games finally delivered, and they did not just bring the regular family from 742 Evergreen Terrace. Instead, the developers tapped into Springfield’s spookiest tradition to kick off Fortnitemares 2026.

The highly anticipated “Treehouse of Horror” collection has officially hit the Fortnite Item Shop. The drop marks one of the most ambitious collaborations in the game’s history, blending the iconic cel-shaded animation style of the long-running cartoon with the chaotic world of Battle Royale.

Meet the Spooky Springfield Cast

Rather than standard versions of the characters, Epic Games opted for classic Halloween variants from the show’s beloved annual anthology episodes. The initial wave features three main outfits, each with custom back blings and harvesting tools.

  • Devil Flanders: Ned Flanders in his devilish form from “Treehouse of Horror IV.” He comes with a hot pitchfork harvesting tool and a soul contract back bling.
  • Fly Homer: A grotesque yet hilarious recreation of Homer’s DNA mishap from “Treehouse of Horror VIII.” His back bling is a miniature sugar pile, and he carries a rolled-up newspaper pickaxe.
  • Raven Bart: Inspired by the classic Edgar Allan Poe parody in the very first Treehouse of Horror special. Bart’s skin features a dark, feathered design and comes with a typewriter back bling.

Each skin is meticulously detailed. Epic Games used a specialized cel-shading technique to ensure the characters look like they stepped right out of a cathode-ray tube television, even when sprinting across the Island or building towering structures.

Pricing and Bundles

For players looking to grab the whole set, the virtual shelves offer a few ways to pay. Individual outfits cost 1,500 V-Bucks. However, the complete “Springfield Nightmare Bundle” is available for 3,200 V-Bucks.

This bundle includes all three outfits, their respective back blings, and two exclusive bonuses: a “Donut Devil” glider and a special loading screen illustrated by animators who worked on the actual show. There is also a traversal emote called “The Bartman,” which lets players dance their way across the map while playing a retro 90s hip-hop beat.

How the Community is Reacting

The reception was instant. Within minutes of the shop reset, social media platforms were flooded with clips of Devil Flanders hitting the “Griddy” after securing a victory royale. Fortnite community insider HYPEX noted that the server queues saw a brief spike as players rushed to log in and buy the skins.

“This is the kind of crossover that keeps the game alive,” said one veteran player on Reddit. “We’ve had Marvel and Star Wars for years, but getting classic Treehouse of Horror designs feels incredibly fresh and perfect for October.”

Epic Games has teased that this is just the beginning of Fortnitemares 2026. Rumors suggest that a second wave of Simpsons cosmetic items, featuring Witch Marge and Kang and Kodos, could arrive later in the month. For now, players can terrorize the lobby with Devil Flanders and enjoy the spookiest season of the year.
